Questions
How do I change between kilograms and pounds?
Settings → Units. Changing units relabels your existing weights rather than converting them: a 100 kg squat becomes a 100 lb squat. This is deliberate — the alternative silently rewrites your training history — so pick a unit before you start logging.
Do I need a paid developer account for iCloud backup?
No. That question comes up because iCloud sync needs a paid account on the developer's side to build. As a user you need nothing but an Apple Account signed in on your iPhone, and iCloud Drive switched on.
What happens to my data if I delete the app?
With iCloud backup off, it goes with the app. With iCloud backup on, your log stays in your own iCloud container and comes back when you reinstall. See the privacy policy for how to remove it permanently.
How do I get my sessions into Health?
Settings → Write sessions to Health, then grant permission when iOS asks. Finished sessions appear in Fitness as strength training workouts. Sessions logged before you turned it on are not backfilled.
How does the app decide my next weight?
Every program runs one of six progression schemes, and the app never hides which. On the Analytics tab, "How these numbers are derived" explains the estimated one-rep max, the training max and the intensity bands. In a session, the weight shown is already rounded to the smallest pair of plates the lift can use.
A lift has stalled. What now?
The app holds the weight and says so. That is the scheme working: a linear progression that keeps adding weight after a miss is how people get hurt. If it keeps happening on the same lift, the honest answer is usually that the program has run its course — most linear programs have a shelf life of a few months by design. The program library says which ones do.
Can I edit a program?
You can reorder and remove exercises on any day. Percentage work — a wave ladder, a tier — cannot be re-repped, because those numbers are the program: a wave whose percentages you edited is a different program with the same name.
Which heart rate straps work?
Any standard Bluetooth LE chest strap. An Apple Watch is not used: HealthKit will not let one app save another app's readings, so a watch's heart rate belongs to the watch's own workout. Heart rate is entirely optional and everything else works without it.
Known limitations
- iPhone only, portrait only. No iPad layout and no Apple Watch app.
- Barbell strength only. No cardio, no recovery score, no readiness number.
- No data export beyond Health. Your log is a JSON file in the app's container, but there is no share sheet for it yet.
- One program at a time. You can switch, and your history is kept, but you cannot run two in parallel.
- Changing units relabels rather than converts, as above.
- Estimated one-rep max is not calculated above twelve reps, because the formulae are fitted on low-rep work and a number derived from a set of twenty is not worth charting.
